Configure Home Routing Mobile Originated in MMI

Home Routing is used by MVNOs to bring the calls in Home Network so they can have control on telecom services (different taxes, blocking certain networks, managing calls).

In this guide, I’ll show how to set-up Home Routing MO in YateMMI.

Settings in My Network

First step is to activate MO Redir from My Network in YateUCN node:

My Network -> Node Params -> YateUCN -> MO REDIR section -> Enable

Then there are a few settings for CAMEL SCF redir:

My Network -> Node Params -> YateUCN ->CAMEL SCF redir

  • Enable it
  • CAMEL service key – 2
  • CAMEL Initial Detection Point – “collectedInfo” (in order to catch info about calls, to trigger the home routing).

Equipment configuration

From Equipment configure MO REDIR numbers.

MO Redirect numbers are used for home routing the MO calls. Each item must start with 1-9 and be at least 5 digits long. The range of numbers will be used to generate voice call routing rules from other nodes to this node.

Equipment -> Edit YateUCN -> go to GMSC/SCF -> MO REDIR numbers

Both you and the routing partner need to have a MO REDIR active for this to work.

Profile management set-up

Last step in order to configure Home Routing is to set up in Profile Management the CAMEL Subscription Information.

Profile management -> CS Profile ->Edit profile -> go to section CSI – CAMEL Subscription Information

  • It has to be Active
  • add TDP:
    • Minimum CAMEL version –  1
    • Maximum CAMEL version – 2
    • DP – collectedInfo
    • SK – 2 (same as Service Key in CAMEL SCF redir)
    • GT SCF – Global title of the Service Control Function. Number in international.

How this works:  “collectedInfo” messages are caught and sent to Global Title SCF which is in YateUCN. The call is redirected to YateUCN and then to the Home Network.

Partner's network

Configuring Home Routing also requires the partner’s network to configure a few settings:

Camel phases active (1, 2 or same as Home network). If you are a partner or if the partner’s network uses YateMMI it can be configured from:

My Network -> Network Settings -> Visited step -> CAMEL Phases

Then go to Node Params, select YateUCN, and check if CAMEL GSM SSF is enabled. By default it is enabled. In order to modify it, go to the end of the page and click modify.

My Network -> Node Params -> YateUCN ->CAMEL GSM SSF -> Enable
