Introduction
YateDRA is the central node in a network that supports DIAMETER. From inside the network it behaves as a routing agent (DRA). For the external connection it behaves as an external agent (DEA).
DRA (Diameter Routing Agent) is a component in 3G, 4G (LTE), and 5G networks that handles the routing of Diameter signaling messages.
It ensures efficient and secure communication between network elements, including those of different roaming partners. DRAs provide functionalities like load balancing, routing based on message content, and message manipulation.
A DRA acts as a central point for routing Diameter messages, similar to a Diameter Relay Agent, but with additional features like load balancing, routing based on specific message fields, and traffic division based on various policies.
